Auditions – The Nutcracker Fantasy 2022

All auditionees should arrive at least 15 minutes before their schedule audition time.

Actors – Adults, 2:15-3:00
Actors – Ages 12+, 3:15-4:15
Actors – Ages 6-12, 4:30pm-5:30pm

For the audition, be prepared with:

  • A printed headshot/portrait photo, at least 4”x6”, 8”x10” preferred – attached to the auditionee’s resume
  • A resume of performing/music experience – list name, date of birth, and previous performing experience or training/lessons.
  • Close-toed shoes and dressed-to-move as auditionees may also learn a brief dance routine. Previous dance experience is not necessary or required.
  • Readings from the script will be given to each auditionee when they arrive.

Acting rehearsals start September 23rd
Every Friday 4:30-7:30 pm (specific times for each part TBD)
Saturday rehearsals start in November

Ballet Ages 3-7, 3:00pm-3:30pm
Ballet Ages 8-13, 4:00pm-5:00pm
Ballet Ages 14+, 5:30pm-7:30pm *ballet experience required*

For the audition:

  • Ballet choreography will be taught and performed in a group setting. Ages 14+ will be guided through a barre warm-up (on pointe if applicable) then progress into choreography

  • Dancers 8+ should bring a one page resume listing full name, past performance roles/experience, and current dance studio.
  • Dress code: ballet attire, hair neatly in bun or short hair pulled securely away from the face, ballet shoes mandatory.

Ballet rehearsals start Friday September 9th
Every Friday 4:30-8:30 pm (specific times for each part TBD)
Saturday rehearsals start in November

No rehearsal October 14th – Fall Break
No rehearsals November 25th and 26th – Thanksgiving

Tech Week: December 10th-15th (mandatory for all)
Dress Rehearsal: Thursday December 15 (mandatory for all)

Saturday December 17th 7 pm
Sunday December 18th 2 pm and 7 pm (exact times subject to change)

Let us know now (on your registration form or by emailing  if you have days you know that you will not be able to attend rehearsal, as this may affect casting. 

**Only 1 absence is allowed. Rehearsals are mandatory.**

Additional Expectations and Commitments:

  • Participation Fee is $105 per participant. There is a discount for more than one participant in a family. 
  • Families are expected to give volunteer time.  Helping backstage, costume projects and alterations, making/acquiring props and set pieces, fundraising, etc are some of the options.  You will be able to choose these on your registration form and our volunteer coordinator will be in touch with you!
  • If you would like to opt out of volunteer time there is the option to pay a $50 fee. This is also on the registration form.
